The Conference will give attendees the opportunity to get close with the local environment and to experience environmental management first hand through a series of innovative mobile workshops.  All mobile workshops leave from the Monterey Plaza Hotel.

Downtown Monterey Sea Level Rise Walk

Take a walking tour along the Monterey waterfront to see potential sea level rise impacts first-hand. Discussion will include the latest in climate change science and statewide mitigation and adaptation advances. Walking shoes and sunglasses recommended.

Fort Ord Base Reuse and Conservation Bus Tour

Join local experts and practitioners on a scenic bus tour through the former Fort Ord Army Base to see ongoing base cleanup, reuse, redevelopment and habitat conservation activities. Learn about the role of federal, state, and local agencies in the redevelopment of a once active military base and how habitat management and green community development are a major part of the future for the former Fort Ord.

Monterey Regional Environmental Park Tour

Visit the Monterey Regional Environmental Park, an innovative solid waste disposal and recycling facility, and learn about the latest in materials reuse, recycling, landfill gas recovery, and landfill operations.

Monterey Bay Coastal Rails-to-Trails Bike Tour

Get some exercise and excellent views of the Monterey Bay on this easy-paced bike ride along the world renowned Monterey Bay Coastal Trail. Experience a first-class, scenic rails-to-trails facility and hear about plans for a planned parallel transit corridor along the way. Distance approximately 16 miles round trip on gently sloping, paved surfaces.
