In an era of climate change, financial meltdowns, and groundbreaking legislation, those in the environmental and planning fields are constantly confronted with new challenges. The AEP 2011 Conference will provide a venue for participants to gather together, gain knowledge from experts in the field, and to learn from each other. The Conference will provide ample information and updates on conventional planning issues, but will also have a strong focus on innovation and on finding creative solutions to the most difficult of issues. 

Located at the elegant Monterey Plaza Hotel and Spa, adjacent to historic Cannery Row and the spectacular Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary, the AEP 2011 Conference will offer mobile workshops are planned that will allow attendees to interact directly with the environment, whether it be touring award-winning local environmental park or walking the shoreline to better understand the impact of sea-level rise.

The Conference will include opportunities for American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) credit, and is applying for Mandatory Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) credits.
